The Blåse consortium, formed by Parkwind, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), NorSea Group, Varanger Kraft and Hammerfest Energi, has decided not to participate in the upcoming Utsira Nord floating wind tender round. The decision follows a strategic review of the opportunity after the support budget for the project and revised winner cap were announced.

Despite its decision, Blåse believes that offshore wind has a fundamental role to play in Norway’s energy transition and praises the government’s long-term ambitions. Blåse’s consortium members will closely monitor the market and are willing to contribute with their input to help inform an efficient and attractive framework.

Parkwind and CIP remain committed to offshore wind and recognize it as a key technology to enable the energy transition in multiple markets. Parkwind currently has more than 4.5 GW under development in Europe and APAC regions. As part of the Ventyr consortium, Parkwind is well underway with the development of Norway’s first large-scale offshore wind project, Sørlige Nordsjø II. CIP is currently developing floating wind in key markets such as the UK, Italy, Korea and the US. NorSea Group remains committed to supporting the offshore wind industry with port logistics and infrastructure capabilities in Europe, with the key markets being Northern Europe, and more specifically Norway and Denmark.

The consortium partners have no further comments at this time. All inquiries are managed via email.
